An Arizona transplant born and raised in upstate New York, Keri Pollard uses bold color and abstract geometry in her latest collection ‘Live’, her first showing of many to come since moving to Flagstaff in August of 2010. Inspired by the simplicity of nature, her collection delicately balances the familiarity of everyday experiences with the energy created within the mind as the eye acknowledges color. Keri is an artist who is very much in the moment when she works, and often uses what is immediately within her reach when creating a painting, hence the three-dimensional texture created using fish tank sand in one piece, and dry lentils in another. Her exciting color combination's and unique drip technique create graceful movement throughout each canvas, and throughout the collection in its entirety.
Keri is an Interior Design major finishing her bachelors degree at Northern Arizona University. She uses her passion for design as a catalyst in creating fresh and exciting artwork that she hopes will inspire others to experiment with the emotions that color can evoke in our lives.
