Originally from Philadelphia, Barbara has lived in Arizona since 1981. Her lifelong love of creating art has been expressed over the years working in multiple mediums. After a teaching career and raising a family, she pursued her passion working in an abstract expressionist style, often using experimental techniques and mixed media.
"My goal is to capture the viewer’s interest to take a second look, and escape for the moment into my abstracted world. I am never sure where a painting will end up as it continually evolves, but my hope is that it will take viewers on a visual journey based on their own life experiences."

Carlos Ortiz has lived in Arizona since 1991 and he was given a box of paint by his brother finding one brush in the mix and a painting was created, thus sparking an interest in art. My paintings are created with both acrylic and acrylic enamel paint to add shine and texture. I use hand made stencils for my pop art and lot’s of painters tape to create my art. I enjoy using bright colors and abstract backgrounds. "I like to stare at a blank canvas and picture in my mind what I want it to be, I envision it and see the colors come alive right before me." I get much love, and support from my partner, family and friends which all have inspired me to continue on with my artwork. I hope to continue my career in art as long as I live and as long as life keeps inspiring me.
