On Exhibit

Raised in Davenport, IA along the Mississippi River I grew up in a free spirited and open-minded house. This nurturing and positive environment helped me realize my creative potential. Often when I was young I found enjoyment in looking at objects that held sharp contrast to one another such as the corner of a dark structure like a building against the crisp blue sky. These thoughts and processes led me to pursue art in college. I earned a BFA degree with emphasis on painting and printmaking at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. During my college years I started experimenting with mixed media and texture in my paintings. Amazing things happen to color when combined with the over/under characteristics of three dimensional texture on an otherwise flat surface.

Over the years my path has taken me through both large and small changes in life and in art but one thing has remained constant. The need for color and visual interest in ones life is paramount. I have shown paintings in Sacramento, CA and throughout the Phoenix Metro area over the last 10 years. From Salon Bela Pelo to the Atlas Bistro to an apartment building hallway on First Fridays the artwork has no bias. You can currently find my paintings at the Pita Jungle, Arrowhead. I get much love and support from my wife Ling and inspiration from my son Ames for which most of my finished work is dedicated to. Love life to love art.
