With hikers, skiers, snowboarders, mountain bikers, and college students all over the place, Flagstaff is one of the more health-conscious cities in the Grand Canyon State. It's a natural fit for Pita Jungle, and lots of Flagstaffians have been wondering what took us so long to get here. Better late than never, we always say, and now that we're in town we promise to provide a great place for active people of all kinds to get their kicks.

  • Kafta Burger* $9.99

    Certified Angus ground beef, mixed with parsley, jalapenos, onions and pomegranate molasses. On a wheat bun, with chipotle hummus, and chopped salad of lettuce, onions, tomatoes and sumac. Served with garlic new potatoes.

    Spicy Mango Shrimp $14.29

    Seven jumbo tiger shrimp stir-fried with caramelized onions and slivered mangos in a spicy sauce. Served with stir-fried ginger rice.

    Wood-Fired Veggie Lavosh Wrap $9.29

    A blend of marinated zucchini and yellow squash, eggplant, wood-fired tomatoes and onions in a Portobello mushroom marinade, with fresh spinach, pesto sauce, garlic dip and seasoning, wrapped in lavosh bread. Served with red bell pepper hummus, roasted garlic potatoes and garnished on the side with Sriracha sauce.

    Medchilada $10.49

    Grilled chicken and mixed beans in lavosh bread, topped with cheddar and wood-fired. Served with brown rice, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, Pico de Gallo and tzatziki.

I'm in love with cameras and photography around the age of 10 when I got my first camera – an Olympus Accura 105R. Back in the day of negatives, I probably went through hundreds of film rolls, but I learned about photography through the eye of the lens and I developed a keen eye for composition. I would take multiple photos of one thing, compare the differences, and even draw in what I wanted to change (prehistoric Photoshop!).Now, when not in the classroom as a Special Needs Preschool Teacher at Cromer Elementary School, I take my trusty DSLR on every hike and adventure I go on in this gorgeous wilderness we call Flagstaff. With hundreds of miles of open space and unique landscapes, I enjoy stopping mid-trail, to take in the sights and capture the beauty of the North Country. I hope you enjoy these photos, and that it brings back memories of outdoor adventures, or reminds you of a stunning location that you've visited or want to visit.
