Aileen is inspired by the nature of being, whether it human nature or her physical surroundings. Her subject matter is a reflection of that attraction. Her intuition guides her process, which begins with searching through magazines and tearing pages to create her composition. The text and imagery within the collage mysteriously reveal their true meaning at some point during the creative process. Once the collage is complete, Aileen then enhances each piece by layering with oil paint, playing with the transparencies of the oils, a process created by the artist herself. Although her compositions are straight forward, much deeper meaning can be found from her use of collage.With her work widely sought after, Aileen has been commissioned by collectors throughout the United States and Canada.
