Aristotle said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” Smart guy, that Aristotle. Isn’t it true that where and who you are in your life today is equal to the sum of your habits? How happy and successful you are is a product of your habits. How in or out of shape you are is also a result of your habits.

Falling right in line with this thought, then: how healthy you are has a lot to do with whether or not you follow healthy eating habits. Good, healthy eating habits can be as addicting as those nasty, unhealthy habits, but they most definitely will benefit you in the long run with lifelong rewards.

We are constantly bombarded with information about how to break our bad habits, so why not turn it around? At any moment you can decide to make a change and start up some new good practices. Raise your standards! You deserve to feel and look great!
 

Make small, conscious diet changes

Eating healthy doesn’t mean you have to limit yourself to eating cabbage and water or deprive yourself of eating the foods you love. It just takes making some small conscious changes like scaling back on eating processed foods, sugary drinks, snacks, and desserts, and saturated-animal fat-heavy butter, oils and meats, while ramping up healthy eating habits like: eating more fruits and vegetables, lean proteins like meats, fish, and legumes, and healthier monounsaturated-vegetable fats, like olive oil.
